QS914MA Installation Notes for Roll-up Door:

The “Quick Switch”TM  QS 914MA is intended for use on self storage units with roll-up doors and slide type latches. The “Quick Switch”TM is mounted on the door channel slide rail. When installed correctly the top of the slot on the QS 914MA will line-up with the top of the slot on the upright of the door channel slide rail. This will allow the latch to pass through the switch and the door channel slide rail without obstructions, this will also not allow the alarm system to arm unless the slide latch is secure. Tampering or removal of the latch from the locked position, opens the circuit and signals the monitoring panel, activating the alarm.

Steps for proper installation:

1.      Determine that door will latch properly.

2.      Align the top of the slot in the QS 914MA with the top of the slot in the door channel slide rail.

3.      Use the self drilling screws provided, to mount QS 914MA to the door channel. 

4.      Secure the switch wire to door channel slide rail or trunk cable.

NOTE: Slide latch must be made from a ferrous metal to work properly.
